🏃 Health & Wellness

Staying Active Every Day

Even 20–30 minutes of gentle movement daily can significantly improve mood, energy, and joint health. Safe exercises for seniors:

  • Chair yoga — gentle stretches while seated, good for balance concerns
  • Walking — 20 minutes at a comfortable pace, preferably in the morning
  • Heel-toe raises — hold the back of a chair, slowly raise your heels then lower; excellent for ankle strength
  • Deep breathing — 10 slow, deep breaths twice daily reduces blood pressure and stress

Our morning yoga sessions (Mon/Wed/Fri, 7 AM, Terrace) are designed specifically for senior bodies. Do join us!

Managing Medications Safely

  • Use a weekly pill organiser — fill it every Sunday for the week ahead
  • Keep a medication list: name, dose, timing, and prescribing doctor
  • Never stop a medication suddenly without consulting your doctor
  • Inform ALL your doctors about every medicine, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations
  • Store medicines in a cool, dry place — not in the bathroom or near a stove
  • Check expiry dates monthly

Eating Well as We Age

  • Protein: Include dal, paneer, curd, eggs, or fish in at least 2 meals daily
  • Calcium: A glass of milk or curd daily; consider supplements if advised by your doctor
  • Fibre: Whole grains, vegetables, and fruits help digestion
  • Hydration: Drink at least 6–8 glasses of water daily — thirst sensation reduces with age
  • Salt and sugar: Reduce gradually; try lime, coriander, and cumin to add flavour without salt
